(Schema Therapy) Foreword by Dr. Xi Liu
I first met Beatrice in 2019 at the start of her Schema Therapy journey. She quickly stood out for her compassion, curiosity, and cultural insight. Over time she has grown into a respected therapist, supervisor, and trainer, pioneering the cultural adaptation of Schema Therapy for Chinese clients. This book, the first of its kind written in Chinese, is a landmark—bridging East and West and opening a new chapter for Schema Therapy.

Understanding and Adapting Schema Therapy for Collectivistic Cultures: Key Differences and Considerations
How do your culture shape your ideas? Schema Therapy, an extension of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) founded by Dr. Jeffrey Young, incorporates multiple treatment modes and theories including Emotion-focused Therapy, Psychodynamics and Gestalt Therapy. Jeffrey observed clients with personality disorders who were unresponsive to CBT or relapsed after initially successful treatment. To better help these clients, he developed ‘schema’ to represent how our chi
